Uno Nessuno e Centomila
My nose sticks out
Bends slightly
To the left
So my wife says
When I look in the mirror
I cannot see. It is not my nose,
Not even my best pose
My wife laughs and combs her hair
It’s slipped, she says. That’s right,
I say. Gone off to market. My wife
Does not understand. It is not my nose,
Not even my best pose
Now when I look in the mirror,
My nose begins to flatten
Into an old man
Plugging the ring of Saturn
Bends slightly
To the left
So my wife says
When I look in the mirror
I cannot see. It is not my nose,
Not even my best pose
My wife laughs and combs her hair
It’s slipped, she says. That’s right,
I say. Gone off to market. My wife
Does not understand. It is not my nose,
Not even my best pose
Now when I look in the mirror,
My nose begins to flatten
Into an old man
Plugging the ring of Saturn
