Black Shadow Baby
Something fell
From the tree
Onto the windscreen:
It was a woman
If not entirely human…
She was dressed in black.
Her eyes were black; she had no eyelids.
She was trying to cover her eyes from the light.
The headlamps, he guessed.
Claw like hands grabbed at him
Through the windscreen;
She opened her mouth
No sound came out
But “Baby”.

am i right in thinking the removal of eyelids was one of the cruder tortures of Pol Pot's regime? That those who had once lived in privileged blindness be forced to see the whole of the world at last.
A very nice, cruel allusion, Mr F.
Never a shortage of cruelty, Mr P. Always on tap when you need it. (ps It looks like I might have been more right than I thought)
